On the bus to the 4th Grade Heritage Park field trip.

Spring Piano Recital

In 'n Out (how have we not been here since December?)

My violin studio recital (11/23 students who stayed for refreshments)

Tiny Toes playing at one of the nicest parks in our town and Little Man enjoying the beautiful, shady park along with us -- one more game there and then we're back in the dusty, sunny old fields.

I recently heard the Visiting Teaching Podcast about finding balance.  Sister Beck suggests three areas into which you should divide your time: the Essentials (scriptures, prayer, church service, etc..), the Necessary (food, laundry, school, work) and the "nice to do" (anything else).  Certainly the necessary get done because there are pretty swift and immediate consequences when they do not; however, for me, the essentials too often get pushed out of the way rather than making way for the necessary.  In addition, sometimes I just have too many "nice to do's" some of which need to be offloaded. I'm beginning with making sure the Essentials are done as we all know there is the most amount of opposition to those and for good reason -- they change us and completely alter our priorities and who'd like to see that NOT happen?
