Night One sans Dad...

When you have small children, a few days of Dad traveling can seem like an eternity in their little lives. Tiny Toes came out of school already dreading taking Dad to the airport (to go visit his father until Sunday night). It was early release, so we headed to the airport early and made a couple of stops before saying good-bye. I noticed Tiny Toes brought a little stuffed friend along which is atypical. As the rusty gears began to squeak and churn in my little head, I realized she was needing some extra security (all together now, "awwwww").

Our first stop was Fuddruckers (don't say that too fast)...yum, I had that tasty salmon burger and made pseudo Training Table fry sauce with the BBQ sauce and mayo (I thought of you Tracie).

Next stop was our favorite outlet mall to search for shoes...Tiny Toes hit the jackpot.

Next off was the airport... that was a quick drop off since we had to dash back to town through possibly ponderously slow rush hour traffic for an early soccer game. Yes, we were late (big surprise for those of you who have ever spent any time waiting for me -- that would be all of you), but right as we walked up to the field, our team scored a goal! First one of the season. This is the third game and the first two were categorically catastrophic (i.e. blow outs). The second goal came in the 4th quarter and Tiny Toes was elated (even though she had intermittently and ever so briefly been lapsing into tra-la-la-la-la land trying to cup little bugs flying around in the light in her hands while the game went on around her). Little Man entertained the other families as he led the charge by roaring encouragement from the sidelines.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy one -- stay tuned to share in the minutia of our little world...
