Around noon, we packed a lunch and headed to a fun family pool. The kids love to get life vests on and jump in the deep with Big Daddy. 
That night, we headed back to our favorite park for a patriotic pops concert in the park with some yummy Sonic. 
At one point, they called up all the kids to get a flag and then they marched the kids around the park during a song. Little Man took a flag and came back to join us, but Tiny Toes decided to march with the group -- it was so cute to see her marching along. She has recently acted a little too shy to do things on her own in, but was really pleased with herself that she marched. 
One of my favorite parts of this particular concert is the Armed Forces Salute in which anyone at the concert who has served, stands when their anthem is played. A few rows back, we saw Mr. Don D. Sherriff stand from his wheel chair. Mr. Sherriff served in WWII.
After the concert, I approached his cute daughter and asked if we could have a picture with him -- it was kind of an emotional moment for everyone (remember how discombobulated I get after hearing Stars & Stripes). Fun, fun day.
Saturday morning,
Big Daddy took us to the donut store for treats and we headed off to the parade. 
The parade seemed a little shorter this year and was missing a few multicultural favs... probably a result of the economy, but we still enjoyed it even if there were ants all over the place.
We came home and I quickly found my pillow for a quick nap while the kids enjoyed some down time (we haven't had too much of that lately). Big Daddy made lunch for everyone and then we headed back to the pool.
After everyone had showered, we headed to CiCi's for dinner and then found a nice spot on the hill for fireworks. 
Last year, we headed to the hill in our pj's and were surprised to see everything going on and all the people, so this year we were sure to be dressed with our wallets!
The kids bought glow swords (with their very own $$).
The show was fantastic and the ride home wasn't even too long.
Sunday was very relaxing, no talks, no conducting, no sharing time... just sitting and taking it all in. Today it's back to the laundry, cleaning and sensible eating! Hope you all had a fun 4th! Please tell me your favorite part of your holiday activities!!
