It began to rain just as we left practice. After lunch we realized an Asian Festival was happening just down the street from the restaurant. Off we went. We enjoyed the music and wandered through the park also taking in a train museum in the park that we've wondered about. There is a restored electric passenger and mail car to tour as well. It was really fun. We enjoyed the pictures and all the little displays.
As we headed toward the car, we started feeling little drops of rain. Luckily we made it in the house before an amazing downpour ensued. It rained all afternoon and well into the night. The sirens even went off in the afternoon. Tiny Toes does NOT care for thunder and lightning, so she was especially distressed when the sirens began. The kids sat at the kitchen table busily coloring and watching Speed Racer during the storm while Big Daddy and I cleaned up the house. You can see the little "lakes" in our backyard -- which was nothing as compared to other areas. We can't remember when we've seen so much rain!
